Overview
The clients behind this great kitchen are a woman who
enjoys cooking and her veterinarian husband. They report
looking forward to eating breakfast together in this
kitchen—one that didn’t follow the usual development
timeline. Abbey’s was brought in as consultant for the
kitchen portion of an addition to the couple’s home.
Typically, kitchen plans are completed first, in this case
the whole addition space had been planned first and
kitchen within it came second.
Challenges
Making the colors work was an involved process.
Fourteen different door stain samples were created until
the right custom color was achieved. The vaulted ceiling
called for tying in cabinetry lines in such a way as to
avoid an abrupt visual transition.
Notes
Special aspects include two ovens for greater flexibility.
The Miele oven is used for smaller meals. A Daycor
professional range adds to the overall cooking capacity.
