Modern Elegance
Location: Summit, NJ

Overview
In this setting, Abbey’s was brought in to work with a decorator and designer to create a warm and cozy country kitchen.

Challenges
Making the island look more like a fixed table rather than a storage facility was a special goal as well as enabling the client to have two ovens in one location. Using custom cabinetry, the wall oven was mounted into base cabinet. Then, faux drawer heads were used to create the look of working cabinets, which conceal the oven.

Notes
Using frameless cabinets with wood partitions developed a furniture inset door-style look. Cabinets sport paint instead of stain. Beadboard doors on the rear of the island appear to be fixed wainscot paneling, but are actually are touch-latch doors.
